This contractor's house in Middle Road does not have street appeal. The rear of the house faces the road and is purely utilitarian, with no architectural features to relieve the eye. It is a puzzle why the roof, walls and window frames were all coloured the same gloomy blue-grey. But the house is well sited, sheltered from the winds and has beautiful views from its opposite side.
