....Many others had come even further than Dave: they'd ridden from all over New Zealand, even the South Island. And the mood on Saturday afternoon was that they had all come home too. They had all shared that open road freedom, whether on a chromed Harley, a restored 1950s Matchless, a Suzuki trail bike, or a huge BMW. And so an air of peaceful good fellowship filled the whole valley. Most had arrived with minimum camping gear on the back of their bikes, and hundreds of tiny domed tents had mushroomed under the pine trees on the hill side. MORE...
